Doug White Endorses Wilkin

Doug White, a longtime public servant and one of the most prominent leaders in Ohio’s agricultural community, today announced his endorsement of Shane Wilkin for Ohio’s Second Congressional District. White is the latest of more 30 community leaders from the district to endorse Wilkin for Congress.

An Adams County native and third-generation farmer, White previously served as director of the Ohio Department of Commerce and is a past president of the Ohio Senate, a former state representative, and a past Adams County Commissioner. White also served as past president of the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association, and for his many contributions to the state’s agricultural community, White was inducted into the Ohio Agricultural Hall of Fame in 2013.

“I’ve dedicated my life to farming and public service, and as a former cabinet director, a legislative leader, and a county commissioner, I know experience matters when issues get tough. That’s why I’m endorsing Shane Wilkin for Congress,” said White. “The policies coming out of Washington impact agriculture every day, and we need to send a proven leader to D.C. who has the experience and strength to fight for our livelihoods. We need Shane Wilkin fighting for us.”

Following White’s endorsement, Wilkin added, “When people think of Ohio agriculture, they think of Doug White, and I’m incredibly honored to have his endorsement. For decades, he’s worked to advance the pro-jobs and pro-Ag policies that help farms and businesses thrive across the state. I’m ready to fight for Southern Ohio in D.C., and with support growing across the district, we will make it happen.”
