Shane Wilkin is a small businessman and community leader who was born and raised right here in the 91st District.
A Lynchburg native, Wilkin is currently serving in his third term as a Highland County commissioner, where he has focused on keeping and creating local jobs. During his tenure, he has helped create over 400 new jobs, along with nearly $45 million in new capital investment. And as chairman of the Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission, Wilkin has been actively involved in local and regional projects to improve our economy and way of life.
Wilkin has used his private sector experience to make government more effective and efficient by reducing the county’s debt and cutting spending, personally renegotiating all service and utilities contracts to ensure fiscal responsibility.
Wilkin has been active in the community for years and serves on the Community Improvement Corporation and Highland District Hospital Foundation boards.
A small businessman, Wilkin is involved in real estate development and owns a small business.
Wilkin’s wife, Kristy, is an attorney with Peelle Law Offices with locations in Wilmington and Hillsboro. They live near Hillsboro, where they are raising their two daughters, Piper and Parker. The Wilkin’s attend church at Good News Gathering.
